Yousef Estes explains the verse about beating one’s wife in the Quran and how often the translations do not explain the real meanings, that is why translations are not accepted or considered as Quran rather only as approximate meanings. Only the Arabic which remains in its unchanged formate is considered Quran.
Part two of Explore The Truth: All What You Want to Know About Islam. This part goes into more detail about the religion and starts the first of the two pillars of Islam, the statement of faith that there is only one god But God the Almighty, and that Mohammed is the last of the Prophets, and secondly that we should worship by praying five times daily at prescribed times, sunrise, after the noon peak, afternoon, sunset, and evening.
Part three: all what you need to know about Islam. This video continues to discuss what Islam teaches, including Zakat or charity, fasting in Ramadan where Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset from food, drink and sexual contact. Lastly the pilgrimage or Hajj is discussed as a sense of unity among all peoples.
This is a funny guy but listen to what he has to say about the basics of islam and how often people misunderstand what Islam is all about. Here he clarifies what the basic information about Islam is, and tries to point out that we have to judge people by Islam, not Islam by the people, because they are human and falable, where as the religion is perfect and given by God. Also, translated versions of the Quran are just that, translations. Once one letter of the Quran is changed?………………. it is no longer considered “the Quran”. Since it was compiled and put into written form, not one single letter has changed. Each new print is check several times and verified by scholars before it can go to the printing press. By translating, the pure meanings are lost, therefore its not condidered the word of God, merley just a text to help those who dont know arabic to understand the basic ideas held within the Quran. I hope that viewers find the video informative.
A very nice video of a woman from Dallas who coverted to Islam. She discusses some of the reasons for her decision and her thoughts about Islam.
Ahmed Dedaat lectures about Jesus Christ. The Bible shows that a true prophet is one which believes in the Christ. Then if this is true, why do Christians not see that Prophet Mohammed is a true Prophet when we know that Jesus Christ was born of a miraculus birth, spoke from the manger, and is the Messiah, who will return. Please enjoy this lecture which is one of 12 parts available on youtube.

This is a very concise video about Islam and how Islam means peace by submitting to the will of God Almighty. This video also covers many of the basic facts of Islam. The lecturer is a bit difficult to understand due to his accent, however its an excellent and informative lecture. Please take the time to enjoy this :)

Posted: 30 May 2008 12:20 AM CDT A dear, dear friend of mine wrote this challenge and sent it to me. I thought it was beautiful: “Here’s an idea for the blog. Encouraging each other to be a strong supporter of our spouses and have the intimate relationship of Rasul (saw) and Khadijah (RA) . The girls sang this nasheed during the Walimah and it was beautiful, MASHALLAH. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLfvzncSwzA ((IF YOU HOLD YOUR CURSOR OVER THE LINK THE VIDEO WILL PLAY IN THIS WINDOW.))Going through Islamic history, we so often read about all the “huge” events that have defined Islam, we tend to skip over the seemingly insignificant ones.
Zamilooni means “Hold Me”- just thinking back to when the Prophet SAW first received revelation- the emotions that must have been going through his heart and mind- the first person that we went to, the person to comfort him, understand him, help him make sense of it all, was his beloved wife, Khadija. He ran to her asking her to Hold Him & Cover Him- and she did. She was the pillar of strength in one of the most defining moments of history. She was there for him, she supported him, she believed in him, she encouraged him… The relationship between them is a shining example for all of us….” Make du’a for this sister and her family, for all of us to succeed in this challenge, and for a renewed commitment to our roles as the “garments” of our spouses (and if you are not married yet, ponder what this will mean in your impending marriage, insha’ALLAH). He stepped inside his home, and he overwhelmed with fear
An angel came with words from God, things were still unclear Saying read – read, but he couldn’t read, then amazing words he heard A trembling deep inside his heart, confused by what had occurredThere was only one who could comfort him And help him see the light To ease his fears, to reassure It was khadijah, his wife… Chorus She was a woman of nobility, successful in all her trade But she had never seen him so distressed, as he was there that day Chorus Bridge… But she sacrificed all her wealth and everything she had Now years have passed, times had changed, But then he came across some jewelry, Cause she was there for him, when times were rough, Chorus Mawlaya salli wa sallim da’iman abada |
