1. The good you find in others, is in you too; and the faults you find in others, are your faults as well.

2. The world around you is a reflection, a mirror showing you the person you are.

3. To change your world, you must change yourself.

4. To blame and complain will only make matters worse.

5.What you see in others, shows you yourself——-See the best in others, and you will be your best.

6. Appreciate beauty, and you will be beautiful; Admire creativity, and you will be creative.

7. Love, and you will be loved. Give to others, and you give to yourself.

8. Seek to understand, and you will be understood.

9. Listen, and your voice will be heard.

10. Show your best face to the mirror, and you will be happy with the face looking back at you.

Women AND Islam

This is one of the most wonderful lectures that I have had the chance to listen to in such a long time. It is long but so worth the time.  Sr. Aminah Assilmi reaches us with reason and common sense backed up with hadith and Quran and well researched information.  She presents herself in the most dignified manner as a muslimah must and serves as a great example for all of us to follow.  Please take the time to listen to all of it.!

BEAUTY OF HIJAB

The beauty of a woman is not only in her physical features, but rather in her character, personality, and in her piety.  A woman who is able to face the world with a smile and graciousness in the event of trials and struggles, and can stand tall knowing that she is working for a home in paradise, radiates a light and glow that cannot be hidden.  People, both men and women, will stand before God on equal basis, and on that point, hijab and dress in general helps us to remind ourselves that we are similar before Allah except in our deeds and levels of piety. 

Out of modesty and virtue a women will cover her hair with a scarf and wear modest clothing which is loose and does not describe the shape of her body, exposing only her hands and face.  Different countries have different styles of hijab.  And women feel beautiful wearing it knowing that she is pleasing Allah and maintaining her dignity.  Additionally, she is treated in a manner where people look at her for who she is, not for what she is wearing, or how she looks.  As we like to say…………….
