Interesting points, however anything that intoxicates is forbidden in Islam as it distorts reason and the ends to not justify the means. Yes I do agree with you that power and money can also intoxify in a manner of speaking.. and this is why many hadith and ayas in the Quran specify that moderation is the best way for those things which are necessary and allowed. Being drunk is a sin no dubt about that,our bible made us to understand that money is the root of all evil yet people look for money.The quest for money and power is more destructive that alcohol.Extremisn in religious practice is far worse than alcohol.Alcohol has some medicinal benefits but excess alcohol is satanic and destructive.Paul in the bible told timothy to take little wine.The psamist said God is the one that created the wine that makes the heart of man merry.The first miracle of Jesus was to turn water to wine at a weddin ceremony.The greatest level of self control comes after taking alcohol.If you can control yourself what makes it a sin.But if you can not then it is better to abstain.Moreover not everybody that can drink alcohol.Some persons just a sip can take them to grave.intoxication comes not only from alcohol,it comes from money,power beauty,intelligence etc.it depends on how one is able to manage all these.

Most impressive indeed !!
You are not alone, I’m sure you’re aware of North America’s adulterous love affair with the almighty ALCOHOLic drinks !
Unfortunately for many of us, there was & still to this day ISN’T, any visible warnings, verbal or otherwise, of the severe Health afflictions, ALL Liquor is more than capable of dealing out, to whom ever it takes its Satanic credence out on ! WITH NO rebutal/cure’s known in this day & age !
By even beginning one’s downhill plunge into iniquity, you’re just basically handing over the KEY to your health & even sometimes your life. Therefore giving Satan’s Minions free reign, permanently !!
Many of us are trying desperately to have our Governments make HEALTH WARNING LABELS mandatory on ALL liquor containers, hoping that will help! Especially for our youth !
